Due to the pandemic the North East Region of the Puppeteers of America was forced to cancel our regularly scheduled regional festival which was due to occur in Brattleboro, VT this past September.  A committee of 10 interested parties formed to make sure there was a replacement for the event that would be safe to run.

The Virtual Puppet Con was born from this concept and ran from October 2^nd –October 11^th, 2020, as a first ever virtual puppetry festival trying to encompass as many elements from an actual physical festival as possible.  The event had performances, workshops, a live puppet slam, panels, a store, a lobby for socializing, and a live puppetry open mic (Potpourri) which was dedicated to the Queen of Potpourri, Bernice Silver whom was recently taken from us by Corona Virus.

The festival was a giant success with around 200 registrations, and about 80 different participating artists, and is hopefully the first of more of its kind in the future!
